Standing Up from Home: Everyday Acts Against Fascism and for Freedom
In a time when authoritarianism is rising around the world, it’s easy to feel powerless—but real change often starts at home. You don’t need to hold office or lead a movement to defend democracy. Small, consistent actions by everyday people can have a big impact:
Stay Informed and Share the Truth-Fascism thrives on lies and ignorance. Fight back by using trustworthy news sources, fact-checking before sharing, and avoiding conspiracy theories. Share accurate information with friends and family. Consider starting a book club, discussion group, or cooking group focused on democracy, history, or human rights to help others stay informed too.
Use Your Voice-Online and offline, your voice matters. Post in support of marginalized communities, challenge hate and disinformation, and amplify voices from the front lines. Call your elected officials, write letters to the editor, or simply talk with neighbors—small conversations can lead to big change.
Support Pro-Democracy Efforts-From home, you can strengthen the movement. Donate if you're able, sign petitions, volunteer remotely, or attend virtual events. Grassroots groups depend on people like you to pressure lawmakers, fight voter suppression, and spread civic education.
Vote—and Help Others Vote-Voting is a powerful act of resistance. Register, vote in every election, and encourage others to do the same. From home, you can text or call voters, write postcards, and join get-out-the-vote campaigns.
Live Your Values Out Loud-Fascism depends on fear and silence. Counter it with visibility and courage—fly a pride flag, support diverse creators, read banned books, or shop from minority-owned businesses. These acts build a culture where freedom can flourish.
Every voice matters. Every action counts. Together, we can protect democracy—starting right from home.
Project 2025 would shift power to a fascist regime
Donald Trump’s Project 2025 is a blatant power grab that aims to give extreme MAGA Republicans unchecked authority. They plan to use this power to criminalize abortion and people seeking asylum, undermine the poor and middle class, and dismantle Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Affordable Care Act, SNAP, and Veterans benefits.
Under Trump’s Project 2025, Republicans intend to impose a nationwide abortion ban and create a national registry to monitor women’s pregnancies and miscarriages. They even threaten to imprison doctors and nurses who provide essential care.
If enacted, Project 2025 would also gut the Affordable Care Act, leading to higher healthcare costs for everyone and a loss of protections for pre-existing conditions. Workers would lose their right to overtime pay, and middle-class families would face tax hikes—all while wealthy corporations receive new handouts.
Republicans' Project 2025 includes a detailed plan to dismantle Social Security and Medicare as we know them. This means slashing benefits for seniors and allowing Big Pharma to charge exorbitant prices for medication.

By leading with respect, we create a society where collaboration and compassion overpower fear and division, rendering fascism powerless in the face of unity.
Unity
Unity is one of the most powerful weapons against fascism, as it dismantles the divide-and-conquer tactics that authoritarian regimes rely on to maintain power. Fascism thrives on sowing division, exploiting differences, and isolating communities, but unity creates an unbreakable bond that transcends those divides. When people from all walks of life stand together, recognizing that an attack on one group is an attack on all, they form a collective force too strong to ignore. Unity amplifies our voices, strengthens our movements, and ensures that no one fights alone. It reminds us that our shared commitment to freedom, justice, and democracy is far greater than the fear and hate that fascism seeks to spread. Together, we can build a future where unity prevails, ensuring that democracy is not just defended but strengthened.

People Power United declares Fascism a clear and present danger to our rights, freedoms, democracy, and the rule of law.
In response to recent MAGA shenanigans to promote Fascism, People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:
“MAGA Republicans have no interest in representing us. They want to rule over us. Freedom is a daily act of advocacy and holding our leaders accountable to the will of the people. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices,” said Laurie Woodward García of People Power United.
