Today, American labor leader, civil rights activist and co-founder of the United Farm Workers Association Dolores Huerta endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in Arizona, three days after the Vice President became the expected Democratic nominee for president.
As part of the endorsement, Huerta will join Harris for President Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Arizona elected officials, labor leaders, and Latino community members for campaign events in Phoenix. Huerta and Rodriguez will underscore the choice facing Arizonans between Vice President Kamala Harris’ positive vision for the future and Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, which will drag Americans into the past and make life harder for Latino families across Arizona and the country.
The following is a statement from Harris 2024 Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez on the endorsement of Dolores Huerta:
“Vice President Harris has been an unwavering champion of the civil rights and labor movement her entire career, and she’s honored to earn the support of Latina civil rights leader Dolores Huerta. With Dolores’ support, we will be stronger and better equipped to organize voters across the country to defeat Donald Trump and his anti-worker agenda.
“From her days taking down abusers and protecting justice as a courtroom prosecutor, to taking on the big banks who defrauded their customers as California Attorney General, to holding Donald Trump’s cabinet accountable in the United States Senate, to creating good-paying, union-protected jobs and keeping families together. Vice President Kamala Harris has always been a fighter for the American people.
“It’s a stark contrast with Donald Trump, who has spent his entire adult life conning working people for his own profit, and whose Project 2025 agenda would take away workers’ rights in favor of big business, ship good-paying jobs abroad, and raise costs for the American people.
